Mr. Turner of Lakeland transitioned Thursday, December 26, 2024. A visitation will be held of Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church - 1240 N. Ohio Avenue, Lakeland, Florida 33805 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. with the Celebration of Life to follow. Interment will follow the Celebration of Life at Oak Hill Burial Park - 4620 US Highway 98 South, Lakeland, Florida 33812.
Deacon Johnny Turner was born on December 1, 1939 in Hazelhurst, Georgia to Johnny Turner and Roberta Reynolds Williams.
Deacon Turner accepted Christ at an early age. He was a faithful member of Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church. While a Macedonia he sung in the Male Chorus, attended Sunday School, Bible Study and was a member of the Deacon’s Board.
Deacon Turner was sweet and loving. He did exactly what he wanted to do and when he wanted to do it. He loved his family and everyone he come into contact with.
On December 26, 2024 he entered eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Legertha Turner; and siblings: Rosie Lee Young, Janie Simpson and Otis Robinson.
He leaves to cherish his memories his children: Lasonia and Keith Young, Ronnie and Felicia Edwards, Linda Banks; siblings: and a host of cousins, extended family and friends.
