Michael Bernard Dockins Jr., known affectionately as “Mikey” by his family and as her "First Born King" by his mother, was born on September 4, 1997, in Winter Haven, Florida, to Michael Dockins Sr. and Corrinne Graham. He departed this life to be with the Lord on January 13, 2025. Michael was a gifted individual with a multitude of talents. During his school years, he excelled in music, playing the cello, and showcased remarkable athletic abilities across various sports, particularly baseball, basketball, and football. His vibrant personality touched the lives of many, as he approached everyone he met with kindness and respect. An outdoors enthusiast, Michael, thrived in nature. He found joy in swimming, fishing, and spending time with animals, creating unforgettable memories with his family and friends at the beach where he loved to play in the sand and swim in the ocean. Michael was also a father to two beautiful boys and was eagerly anticipating the arrival of another son in April 2025. His legacy of love, joy, and adventure will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. His favorite Bible verse… Psalm 26:11 But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me and be merciful unto me. Special acknowledgement to Dais’Janique Sanders. The love and encouragement you provided Michael not only transformed his journey but also created memories that will last a lifetime. Your relationship with my son Michael has been a precious gift, and I am grateful for everything you have done. You are truly special, and the legacy of your bond with Michael will live on in all our hearts.

Dr. Elbert Franklin Baldwin, Jr. was born on April 2, 1963 to Elbert Franklin, Sr. and Juanita Baldwin. “Frankie” as he was affectionately known was employed with the United States Postal Service for 22 years. When he was not working he enjoying going to church. “Frankie” was an ordain minister. He was ordained at St. John Primitive Baptist Church under Elder Dr. Robert Townes. He was member for over 28 years at Pilgrim Rest Freewill Baptist church. He served faithfully as a Sunday School Teacher, Chaplain of the Pilgrim Rest Male Chorus and served on the Ministerial Staff. On Saturday, January 11, 2025, Frankie entered eternal rest. He was preceded in by his father: Elbert F. Baldwin, Sr. He is survived by his loving mother: Juanita Baldwin; uncles: Willie Jones, Jr., Curtis Jones, Samuel L. Jones (Arienne); godson: Demetrius Jones; close brother and friend: Willie Clarke, close prayer warrior: Deacon Bennie Branton; the love of my life: Ms. Tina Townes and a vast host of cousins, nieces, nephews, church members and Class on 1981 - Kathleen, Lakeland and Lake Gibson.

In 1954, in New Smyrna Beach Florida, a flower was born. The color was red and the scent was infectious. That flower, born to Bishop Henry and Essie Ross was named Janice Arlene Ross. She was the second youngest of six children. Janice matured and developed into the most beautiful, funny, unapologetic person who was loved by everyone. She attended FAMU and was very proud to be an alumni of the FAMU Rattlers. There, she majored in Fashion Retail and Marketing. Her journey continued through 1978, when she married the love of her life, Everard McLachlan. They were told that the road wouldn’t be easy, but with God’s help, He guided them over the rocky roads they’d face together. For many years, she was a member of Greater Refuge Temple where she was saved and baptized. Janice had an adept talent for drawing, and enjoyed cooking/baking, making people laugh, weight lifting, and was always there and willing to help anyone in need. One thing people who knew Janice understood that she was unapologetically who she was and didn’t concern herself with fitting into any mold. She taught her children this philosophy that they hold to this day. Though she faced various health challenges, she had the ability to see how God was working in her and never let those hurdles fundamentally change who she was. On January 6th of 2025, the flower faded and God saw fit to call His daughter home. She leaves behind her loving husband of 46 years, sons Andrei (Denise) and Christopher (Tanzania), and daughter: Ashley (Bryan) as well as her five grandchildren: Zion, Kayla, Judah, Josiah and Elijah; her siblings: Ethelyn Rosier, Cynthia Waring (Timothy), Bishop Henry Ross, Jr. (Sandra), and Kathy Forehand (Daryl) will grieve their beloved sister and a generation of cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends will mourn as they remember who she was to them.

Erick E. Feiling was born on September 6, 1949 in Kingstown, Jamaica. “Winston” was loved by all of his family and close friends. No matter the situation, there was never a dull moment when he was around. “Winston” had a smile that would lighten up any room he walked into. On Saturday, December 28, 2024 he entered eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of 32 years Sherline Feiling; children: Erick Feiling, Gabriel Feiling, Terrell Feiling, Andrew Thompson (Venita), Richard Thompson, Virticee Thompson (CoCo), Johnathan Thompson (Gwendolyn); grandchildren: Shay Thompson, Johnathan Thompson, Jr., Virtasia Thompson, Drucilia Thompson, Venesia Rice, Teira Thompson and a host of cousins and extended family and friends.

Deacon Johnny Turner was born on December 1, 1939 in Hazelhurst, Georgia to Johnny Turner and Roberta Reynolds Williams. Deacon Turner accepted Christ at an early age. He was a faithful member of Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church. While a Macedonia he sung in the Male Chorus, attended Sunday School, Bible Study and was a member of the Deacon’s Board. Deacon Turner was sweet and loving. He did exactly what he wanted to do and when he wanted to do it. He loved his family and everyone he come into contact with. On December 26, 2024 he entered eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Legertha Turner; and siblings: Rosie Lee Young, Janie Simpson and Otis Robinson. He leaves to cherish his memories his children: Lasonia and Keith Young, Ronnie and Felicia Edwards, Linda Banks; siblings: and a host of cousins, extended family and friends.

The Legacy James Ishom McKinnon was born on December 25, 1942, to the late Vernon and Dallas McKinnon in Lumberton, North Carolina. James left Lumberton in his early teen years to live in New York. He later came to Florida where he met Laura Mae Waldron. After a three (3) month courtship, James and Laura were married. To this union three (3) children were born, and 1 child adopted. James wore many hats and could fix and make anything. James loved to plant and grow fruit trees and vegetables. He would give them to family and friends. One of his accomplishments has to be that he has the tallest mango tree in Polk County, Florida! James worked for the Lakeland Department of Sanitation, Florida Tile, Monier Life Tile, Florida’s Natural Growers, and Pinkerton’s Security. He was an avid landscaper to which he had many clients. On December 26, 2024, he entered eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his daughter: Margaret Laura Ann McKinnon He leaves to cherish his memory, Laura, his loving wife of 61 years, two sons, Sir Francis McKinnon (Patricia) and Christopher McKinnon (Satoko), daughters: Dallas McKinnon (Fiancée, Robert), Teresa Richardson and (Goddaughter) Constance Mitchell; sisters: Fannie Greene of Brooklyn, New York, Doris Hodges and Betty Greene of Lumberton, North Carolina and one brother Levern McKinnon (Kathy) of Lakeland, Florida; sister-in-law, Peggy Earle (Landlin), ten (10) grandchildren, six (6) great-grandchildren, two (2) great-great grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, former coworkers, and friends.

Dr. Rebecca Hayward Mitchell is the second of seven children born to Franklin and Lutheran Hayward on September 1, 1947. She was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she attended Philadelphia Public Schools and Universities. Rebecca, also know as “Becky” and “Sissy”, was born with the spirit to serve and that spirit remained with her until she transitioned. Whatever she put her hands to do whether it was in the home, her community, her church or school, she put forth her best effort. She was an excellent student and she was the “Teacher’s Pet.” She respected and loved all of her teachers and she volunteered to help her teacher during and after school. Rebecca was an active member of the Folk-dance Group and the Glee Club. She was a member of the Student Council, the Debate Team, School Choir, Drama Club and the Track Team. In addition, she was a reporter for the school newspaper and the treasurer of the school. Rebecca served as School Ambassador to the Nation Youth Conference in Harrisburg and in Washington, DC, Vice President of her high school and was inducted into the National Honor Society. She also did volunteer work at Saint Marth’s Settlement House, where she worked in the office, tutored and mentored other students and assisted the blind. She saw all this volunteer work as a “seed that she was sewing not as a debt that she owed.” Rebecca was never lost for words, she had an abiding faith in God. She demonstrated determination, inquisitiveness and intelligence. She had a desire to serve which paid off. Rebecca started her post high school education by attending Albert Einstein School of Nursing. While in school she worked in the surgical ward for eight month. Rebecca decided that nursing was not the helping profession that she needed to pursue. So Rebecca attended Temple University and graduated in 1972 with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Education with a major in Comprehensive Secondary English. Rebecca’s motto was “Excellence is my ONLY option” and she had a thirst for knowledge that was phenomenal. Over the years at Temple University she earned two additional degree: Master’s of Secondary Education majoring in Comprehensive English and a Doctor of Education majoring in Curriculum Instruction and Technology and Education. She earned 3 certifications: Secondary Comprehensive English, Supervisory/Communication, and Secondary Principal Certificate. At St. Joseph’s University, she earned a Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility. Rebecca began he professional teaching career at Strawberry Mansion Junior High School as an English teacher in the Independent Study Program. Later, she transferred to George Washington High School. While at Washington High School, she received a research grant and she and another colleague developed a curriculum to teach students a course on Multi-Cultural Literature. Rebecca and several of her colleagues put on a large musical production of African American History. While working at Washington, as a classroom teacher, Rebecca received many honors to include: - Semifinalists in the Philadelphia School Districts excellence in teaching celebration - Recipient of the Literacy Award for Philadelphia Council of International Reading Association - Curriculum Development for Lincoln University Urban Campus - Philadelphia Department of Education award for presenting a professional development session on teachers expectations and students achievements - Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Fellowship for Graduate Studies - Council for basic education Philadelphia Fellowship for Multicultural Studies. Rebecca worked as an administrator in Philadelphia for 12 years as an Assistant Principal at Benjamin Franklin High School, University High School, Fells High School and W.B. Saul High School. She received a well deserved promotion to Principal of Amy Northwest Middle School and later to Roxborough High School where she had over 3,800 students. In addition to being a teacher and an administrator, down through the years, in the summertime she taught writing strategies at Messiah College. She was an Adjunct Professor at Lincoln and Cheney & Penn State Universities where she taught educational administration classes for aspiring administrators and Arcadia University - Student Teacher Supervisor, English Department. With all this, she found time to be an active member of several professional organizations: - Phi Delta Kappa, Incorporated - professional organization of women in the field of education - Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development -Leadership and Excellence for Administrators and Pennsylvania Schools She was also the Second Vice President for the National Association of University Women - Suburban Philadelphia Branch Rebecca even conducted several professional development sessions which included: - Using NASA material to teach English, Math and Science at Lincoln University - Bureau of Education and Research - successful co-teaching strategies - Educational Records Bureau - Writing National test item - The importance of diversity -Improving student’s writing skills - Couples learning Center - Building marriage and family skills Rebecca was an active member of her family singing group, the Overton Family Singers. She also organized and planned their family reunions and supported her family, friends and neighbors in all endeavors. For 40 years, Rebecca was a dedicated and active member of her church, Mount Zion Pentecostal Church in Philadelphia. She was President of the Sunday School for the Northern District of the First Born Church of the Living God, Inc. In February of 2007, she retired from public education. Even in retirement, it did not stop her from serving others. She continued to volunteer. She got involved in reading to preschool students at North Hills Community Center monthly; Ministered in song to senior citizen at Convalescent and Retirement homes monthly more specially West Oakland Senior Center in Philadelphia and Lamont Community Centers in Cheltenham weekly; became President of the Leisure Travelers RV Club in Philadelphia and New Jersey and President of the Board of Trustees for Tacony Preparatory Charter School. While in the 10th grade, Rebecca met and fell in love with Robert, and 11th grade and the have never departed since. As Rebecca melodic voice sang, “How Great Thou Art.” Their eyes met and it was love at first sight for both of them. They got married on August 6, 1965 on a shoestring budget. God has proven to be great in their lives for he has blessed them abundantly. They are bless with two handsome sons born five yeas apart on the same day, April 30th. They also have a phenomenal daughter-in-law, two beautiful granddaughters and one handsome grandson. God has blessed them professionally and spiritually and he has anointed Robert to preach the Gospel and Rebecca to sing songs of Zion. Dr. Mitchell has given the school district of Philadelphia 34 years of excellent professional service demonstrating love and devotion for the job and to the students that she ministered to. Rebecca moved to Florida with her husband in January of 2015. Shortly after they moved, they joined Abyssinia Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. J.H. Williams. Being retired, the goal was just to sit and worship God. God had another plan, Rebecca ended up being the Church Clerk, Church Secretary and Director of both Senior and Junior Choir. Her husband became an Associated Pastor of Abyssinia Missionary Baptist Church. She also became apart of the Scholarship Judging Committee the Bartow Deacon’s and Steward’s Alliance. On Thursdays, she was apart of the missionary group that visited Rohr Senior Citizen Home. In her spare time, she taught Vacation Bible School at Abyssinia Baptist Church. She work tirelessly until her health would no longer allow her to do so. On December 21, 2024 at 5:10 p.m., God called her to the transitional stage of her journey. She is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 59, Elder Robert Mitchell. They did everything and went everywhere in the name of the Lord together demonstrating love and compassion for each other and for God. 2 devoted sons: Robert Mitchell, III and Rodney Mitchell; 3 phenomenal grandchildren: Amaya Mitchell, Alessandra Mitchell and Robert “R.J.” Mitchell; a wonderful daughter-in-law: Jennifer Mitchell; 1 brother: Dr. Frank Hayward; 2 sisters, 5 sisters-in-law, 2 brothers-in-law, 2 Aunts and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Mr. Joseph Decilhomme Gerestant was born on December 30, 1950 in Les Cayes, legitimate son of Anne Elie Georgeon and Decius Gerestant. My dad came from a large family, his parents had 8 children. Cameau (deceased), Lucieuse, Decilia (deceased), Pierre Decilien, Odette (deceased), Jacob (deceased), Joseph (my dad), and Jean Maurice. He did his primary studies at the Dumarsais Estime school in Les Cayes, his secondary studies at the Lycee Philippe Guerrier from the sixth grade to Retho in Les Cayes. His last year of high school in Port-au-Prince at the Institute Les Frères de l'impasse Laveau. He studied accounting at the National Institute of Administration, Management and Higher International Studies (INAGHEI). He was an employee of the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH) for 38 years. He studied theology at STEP, from where he obtained a bachelor's degree in May 1985. He did a master's degree in theology from 1998-2001 at Lee University in Cleveland TN. He was known as a Bishop of the Church of God in Haiti. He was an executive member of the Church of God mission in Haiti. He had a passion for education and volunteered with this gift that the Lord had entrusted to him. He was a professor where he taught Greek, Hermetic, administration at STED and several other religious institutions in Haiti. He was Assistant Pastor at the Church of God of Poste de Marchant at the beginning of his ministry until January 1990; and then Assistant Pastor at the Church of God of Rue du Centre until 2021. From 2021 to 2023 he was the Lead Pastor of the Church of God of Rue du Centre and Lead Pastor of the District of Port au Prince, West. Pastor Gerestant was a man of integrity and humility. During his time at the Church of God of Poste Marchant, he met a young lady from the youth of the church, Gladys Esteve. After two years of dating, Joseph and Gladys got married on September 24, 1983. My dad was a respectful, caring and affectionate husband towards his wife. Through his conduct, I learned how to respect my wife and treat her with respect. My parents have 6 children, Luc (died at the young age of 10), Paul Elie, Rhode Kenia, Anne Bervely, Sem Merari, and Nathanaele. Joseph was a father devoted to his family, a father who assumed his responsibility, a model of a father as it should be—he was always available for his children, he was proud of all of us. My dad was a calm man, he had a positive word for each person according to their situation. One of the moments that marked me that I had with my dad was the day before my wedding. We were both in the car after the rehearsal before the wedding. He gave me a lot of advice that I hold dear and that helped me in my relationship with my wife. Papi was a great financial advisor. He often said, “ou Paka ap travay epi ou pa gen $100.00 pou prete li” he was very generous but a manager in his finance at the same time. He taught us all to be very financially disciplined in life. Papi’s famous saying $1 not spent is $1 saved. He told us there is no stupid job as long as the work is honest, it is an opportunity to earn your daily bread. My Dad valued spiritual guidance, he always told us to pray first before any decision we have to make in life. I remember he told us that he had the opportunity to do a master’s degree in accounting in Canada since he was a scholarship recipient. But after the prayer the Lord commanded him to put his trust in Him and go into the ministry in Haiti, He will take care of the rest, and the rest The Lord took care of it. God blessed his ministry and He used it to touch the lives of many people. Papi was a compassionate and gracious father. He understood that in life there will be times when your actions could bring you shame. Any mistake you made you can come back from it. Don't let a mistake define you. Don't let people's gossip define you, know who you are, continue to persevere and do your best. He was a father full of good advice to all. He was a great dad loved by all his grandchildren. I remember in December 2020. He spent a week at my house. Elijah my first child had a wonderful time with grandpa. And after Christmas, Grandpa had to go celebrate his birthday with his wife in Haiti. On the very day of his birthday, Elijah refused to sing for grandpa because Grandpa left him. Grandpa loved his grandchildren. Dad, I know that you are already in the arms of your Savior with your eldest son Luc, We love you very much and we will do everything it takes to continue working in the ministry and to please Jesus as you would have wished

Eleanor was also known for her unwavering stubbornness—a testament to her determination and her firm belief in standing by her convictions. Yet, she balanced that strength with an infectious love for life. She cherished having a good time, filling her days with laughter, joy, and an appreciation for the simple pleasures that make life beautiful. Eleanor, we love you more than words can express. Your absence leaves a hole in our hearts, but we find comfort in the countless memories of your love and light. On January 17, 1943, Clara Virginia Swain was born to Charles and Carrie Swain in Georgia. The eldest of three girls, Clara attended Polk County Schools and graduated with the class of 1962 from Rochelle High School. Clara’s love for culinary arts and the art of clothing design and tailoring was sparked in high school under the tutelage of Ms. Gilcrest, the Home Economics teacher. After graduation her love for culinary and design continued which caused her to take numerous workshops to hone her skills and everyone around her could taste the love by eating color coordinated, flavorful cuisine; homemade breads; and her hard to resist delicious desserts. Others, experienced her love as she meticulously tailored everything from men’s sportswear and suits to wedding gowns and lingerie. She also had a knack for creating beautiful crochet blankets, hats, and baby booties. Clara shared the enjoyment of scrapbooking and collecting porcelain dolls with her sister Charlie Mae for the past twenty years. Her love for the Christmas season is unmatched. Each year was met with a new Christmas theme of decorations from outside to inside. She would gift-wrap the entire exterior of her home and put a huge red bow on the front that could be seen from a far distance. There would be a Christmas tree outside and inside the home full of lights and beautiful ornaments. She’d also decorate a huge display table with a Christmas village and rolling hills of snow. Another attribute she shared with others is her love for Jesus Christ. She was a devoted member of Friendship Baptist Church while residing in Lewes, Delaware where she retired from working for the state of Delaware. She also went to seminary school to further her understanding of the gospel during this time. Later in life she moved back to Lakeland where she often attended worship services at Greater Faith Temple Church of our Lord Christ of the Apostolic Faith (COOLJC). It is said there are several expressions of love, Clara identified with acts of service and gift giving. She showed love to many through her acts of kindness and warmest smile; always giving a helping hand, being a huge support, giving great advice, and sacrificing herself for others. She is the epitome of having a heart of pure gold. We all will miss Clara aka Clara P, Clair, Grandma Clara, Nana, Ma, and Mama. She will continue to live in our hearts for the love she shared with us all will never die, but live on. She was preceded in by her parents: Charlse and Carrie Swain; sister: Hattie Hammon and grandmother: Clara Worth. He also played for Marshall University of Huntington, West Virginia. Stew was loved by all of his family and close friends. No matter the situation, there was never a dull moment when he was around. He had a smile that would lighten up any room he walked into. He gave back to his community as a beacon of strength to those who needed hope and love. His journey ended on November 14, 2024. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Glen Stephens, Mercita Clayton, Jerry Fisher; aunt: Fay Butler, uncle: Willie “Scoobie” Robinson, Jr. and cousin: Tonio Ware. Hubert George Brooks was born October 31, 1966 to Erbert and Joyce Brooks in Kingston, Jamaica. Hubert migrated from Jamaica to Miami, Florida were he lived and attended public school. Hubert and his family moved to Central Florida area where he employed with Valencia Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center of Lakeland, Florida. If you knew Hubert, you knew he had an undying love for horses. Before moving to Lakeland, he breed, groomed, raised and trained horses. Not only did he have a love for horses, but he also was an avid runner, having ran in High School and several marathons in Miami. One of Hubert’s main passions was just staying home and spending time with his family. On Friday, November 8, 2024 at the tender age of 58, he entered eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his father: Erbert Brooks and siblings: Everton and Junior Brooks. Bishop John Washington Smith, Jr. affectionately known as “Bobby” was born in the City of Lake Alfred, Florida to the late John Washington Smith, Sr. and Margie Walker Ross on January 5, 1938. He transcended this life to be with his Lord and Saviour on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at his residence. Bishop Smith attended Rochelle Elementary through High School wherein he played basketball during his high school years graduating in the Class of 1956. He furthered his education by attending Saint Leo College. Bishop Smith joined the United States Army, became a Law Enforcement Officer with the Lakeland Police Department (Sergeant) and retired after 20 years. After retirement in Law Enforcement, he went to work for Joe G. Tedder Tax Collector of Polk County, Florida where he became a Field Supervisor and retired after 10 years of service. While a faithful member of St. Luke Freewill Baptist Church, Lakeland, Florida. Bishop Smith received his call to preach. He pastored the Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church, Winter Garden, Florida for 19 years. He also pastored the St. James Freewill Baptist Church, Winter Haven, Florida for 1 year and served all three years as Bishop of the South Florida Annual Conference. He then planted and pastored the Trinity Spiritual Freewill Baptist Church of Winter Haven for 9 years. In 2017, he became a member of Pilgrim Rest Freewill Baptist Church, Lakeland, Florida serving where needed until his demise. Bishop John Smith was a man of faith possessing all the “Fruit of the Spirit”, love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance. He loved people, his family and the Church of the Living God. He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Christopher John Smith (Tami), Craig Jarvis Smith and Chad Griffin; step-children: Sandra Worlds, Karen Johnson, Maurice Johnson (Ruby), Mark Johnson; sister, Clara Smith; brothers, Al Smith, Phillip Walker (Cappie); sisters-in-law: Josephine Smith, Sarah Miller, nieces and nephews and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren as well as other family members and friends who celebrate his life.

Barbara Arnita Moore was born on October 24, 1962 to Theodore Morse and Bethonia Moore. She was a graduate of Kathleen High School in 1980. While in high school she was cheerleader. She loved fashion and was known to have sown her own clothes in school. She was awarded “Best Dress” in 1977. After graduating, she worked for Barnett Bank. One of her most proud moments was the birth of her one and only son, Deon Freeman. She will forever be remembered for her smile and unique personality. On November 11, 2024, she entered eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her parents: Theodore Morse and Bethonia Moore and siblings: Beverly Williams, Frederick Williams and David Moore. Mother Bessie Mae Speed Melton was born, September 17th, 1929, in Eaton Park, Florida to Osborne Speed and Mary Lou Davis. Mother Melton was a devoted member of Pilgrim Rest Freewill Baptist Church and devoted her life to the Christ at an early age. She was faithful to her church and served as a trustee and leader in many capacities for over 75 years, including usher, choir member, choir president, home mission, Love in Action, and established the Food Bank ministry in 1999. Mother Melton was devoted to serving in the community and served many roles; early member of the Eastern Star and founded Seniors in Action on the Move Group in March 2018 as she continued to devote her time and dedication to her local community. She loved and cherished her many friendships by daily contact with the sick and shut in as well as with her devoted children, grandchildren and dear friends. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Willie Van Melton, Sr., and three of her children, Leo, Paul, Pauline, and Willie Melton, Jr. (Peter), parents Osborne and Mary Lou Speed, siblings: Lillie Mae Speed Neal, Henry Speed, Arthur Speed, Clarence Speed, Clemateen Speed Butler, Thirsa Lee Speed Hudson, Essie Mae Speed Joyner, Madison Speed, Cecil Speed, Margaret Speed Garvin, Naomi Speed Glover, Willie Speed, Demetrius McDougal, Yvonne Speed Williams and grandchildren: Yolanda and Carla McDougal and Rory Culpepper. She is survived by three children; Carolyn Speed Lightsy (Charles), Leon McDougal, Sylvia McDougal Culpepper, and adopted son, Xavier Melton (Mauri), grandchildren: Dr. Kelly, Ava, Rodney, Adrienne, Shannon, April, Yolanda, Oneka. Also left to cherish her memory, a loving granddaughter and caretaker, Yoranda McDougal, special niece and neighbor, Gertrude Norman, daughter-in-law: Rosetta McDougal, brother-in-law: Deacon Joseph Garvin; sister-in-law: Latha M. Speed; church caretaker: Bro. It is with great sadness that we announce Mrs. Calisha R Roberson, cherished wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, and a dedicated Pharmacist, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 24, 2024. Lisha was born 5 minutes before her identical twin sister, Catisha R. Smith, who lovingly “pushed her out” to her parents Mr. Rodney L. Smith Sr. and Mrs. Curline Smith at Lakeland Regional Hospital in Lakeland, Florida on December 24, 1978 at 1:32pm. She attended Hillsborough County public schools, as a student first then an athlete. She was Vice President for the class of 1997 at Plant City High School. She furthered her studies and attended the University of South Florida. On April 8, 2001, she pledged the Kappa Iota Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. and will forever remain the #4 of the 11 Elements of Epiphany line, as “Contempt”. Lisha met the love of her life, Daniel W. Roberson, Jr in the 6th grade and after a fun game of tether ball, where she got hit, their lives were forever joined. She married her high school sweetheart Mr. Daniel W. Roberson Jr. on April 3, 2004, as stated by Lisha “over 32 years together and 20 years married... still in love.” Their love story brought forth two beautiful children into the world, Daniel “D3” Roberson III on May 17, 2006, and Danielle Roberson on October 16, 2007. Family was everything to Lisha, and she was known for her strong will, and devotion to her family happiness and well-being. Lisha graduated from the University of South Florida December of 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Technology. Lisha went on to earn her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2011. Lisha’s desire to better herself by earning a teaching certificate from the University of South Florida, in 2022. As a pharmacist, she was certified in managed care, prior authorization and medical billing. As a Pharmacist, Lisha served her community faithfully, working with CVS Pharmacy for over 13 years and most recently serving Veterans at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. As a pharmacy manager at CVS, she earned the District Pharmacist Paragon award in 2015. She took joy in educating her family and friends about their medications and ensuring that everyone stayed up-to-date with their vaccinations. Lisha was a loyal member of Greater New Hope Anointed Ministries in Plant City, Florida where her faith guided her life and actions. She was a woman of God, love, and kindness. Lisha leaves behind her beloved husband of 20 years Daniel W. Roberson Jr., and their two children Daniel “D3” Roberson III. and Danielle Roberson. She is also survived by her parents Rodney L. Smith Sr, and Curline Smith; her siblings Rodney L. Smith Jr. (m. LaShonda), Damarence A. Smith, and her identical twin, Catisha R. Smith; as well as her father-in-law, brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-laws, Daniel Roberson Sr. (m. Patrica Roberson proceeded in death), Shelvy Roberson, Sherrita Pena (Roberson), Paulette Roberson, and fraternal twins Brennan (m. Rikki) and Branden Roberson. Her memory lives on in her nephews and nieces, Christopher Bailey-Smith, Zhamariye’ Smith, DaShon Smith, William Smith, DeAndre Smith, Neila Roberson, Barnabas Carter, Bennett Carter, Carisa Smith and Baelynn Carter. Lisha was blessed with loving Godparents and Uncle & Aunt, Carl and Tammy Brunson and Evangelist Anthony Holmes, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, close family, friends, and a wide circle of those who lives she touched. Gerald Ronald Rawls was born on January 18, 1942, in Lakeland, Florida, to LeRoy and Myrtle Rawls. The eldest of four children, Gerald grew up with a deep sense of family and service. A proud graduate of Rochelle High School, he was great a basketball player and given the name “Shake” because of his skills. He was also a talented horn player in the marching band. After high school, he answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army. During his military career, he achieved the rank of Sergeant and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, and the Sharpshooter Badge, reflecting his dedication and skill. After completing his military service, Gerald pursued higher education at Bethune-Cookman University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree. Upon returning to his hometown of Lakeland, Gerald built a successful career with Mosaic Phosphate, where he worked diligently until his retirement in 2007. Beyond his professional life, Gerald was deeply committed to his faith and community. A devoted member of Greater St. Paul M.B.I. Church, he faithfully served on the Deacon Board and took great joy in teaching new members’ classes. Known for his love of the Bible, Gerald found fulfillment in sharing the word of God with others. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Myrtle Rawls, and his son, Gerald Ronald II. On Friday, October 25, 2024, Gerald transitioned from this life at Lakeland Regional Hospital. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his devoted wife of 19 years, Joyce Rawls; his daughter, Rhonda Camp (Kevin); bonus daughter: Angela Moses; his siblings, Judy Walden (Charles) Earl Rawls, and Phillip Rawls, grandchildren Keyshon and Kayla Camp; sisters-in-law: Patricia Coakley, Crystal Crockett (George), Jeanette Snead; brothers-in-law: Clarence Snead, Jr, Edward Snead and a host of extended family and friends.

Homer Boatwright was born in Lakeland, Fl on November 17, 1941. He attended Moorhead Elementary School and for his Jr and Sr years he attended Rochelle where he was a fantastic basketball and football player. He was also on the track team. His events were discus and shot put. He set a record in one and broke a record in the other; you can find his name with others on the U.C Johnson wall in front of Rochelle School for shot put and discus. He attended college at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he played basketball. After college he played Center with the Harlem Magician. He also played Center with the Royal Crown basketball team of Lakeland which later became an AAU team. He also played semi-pro on the Florida Brahmas football team. In 1960, he married his high school sweetheart Joyce Boatwright. After his mother in-law passed he helped raise his sister in-law Elaine. Homer & Joyce had 6 children. Homer had more children totaling 13 in all. He was baptized in Jesus’ name at Refuge Church of Our Lord under the late Apostle Henry Ross Sr. He occasionally enjoyed attending 6am prayer service and Sunday services. In 1965 he became a Lakeland police officer and served on the force for 15 years. He later became a supervisor at Publix Bakery Warehouse until he retired in 2001. He enjoyed renovating his home, working in his yard, and raising his chickens. He also loved quality time with his family. On October 17, 2024, Homer entered eternal rest. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Gamiah and Ethel Boatwright, siblings: Ernest Lee, Major, Grace:, Charlie, Rosalee, Willie B, children: Bridget, Buffey, Daryl Jennings and Connie Williams. He is survived by his former wife & best friend Joyce Boatwright and their children, Wayne Boatwright (Linda), Sandra Townsend (Thedor), Renea Richard, Monica Boatwright, Margot Boatwright (Diego), Leehomer Boatwright-Simmons, Homer Lee Boatwright Jr., Brendan Boatwright (Kimberly), Quinton Boatwright, siblings, Shirley Ann Pickney, Rosetta Hollaway, Jeanette Sconiers, Lottie May Graham, 26 grandchildren & 42 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Doris L. Hicks “Well done, good and faithful servant!” Matthew 25:24 Mrs. Doris L. Hicks, a native of Quincy, Florida and the second oldest of eleven children, was born on July 21, 1944, from very humble beginnings. Influenced by an abundance environment of educators and dressed in the full armor of God, she decided to attended Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU), a decision that would change the path of her life and others. Mrs. Hicks graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education in 1967. She then matriculated on to graduate school from FAMU receiving her Master of Science degree in Education in 1970. While at FAMU, she met and married the love of her life, Lorenzo H. Hicks, a native of Lakeland, who was the 1st chair trumpet player in the phenomenal renowned known Marching 100 Band, then matriculated to Bethune Cookman College where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education in 1969. They had one child, Veronica L. Hicks-Crawford who currently resides in Columbia, South Carolina. Mrs. Hicks is a retired educator with 36 years of teaching to her credit. This mover, shaker, legacy trailblazer, and giant pillar in the community of Polk County was named one of the “Most influential People in Lakeland” receiving the key to the city, inducted to the “Who’s Who in America” - 2021-2022 Hall of Fame, and honored with her own “Doris L. Hicks Day” – May 20, 2000. These are just a few of the numerous and prestigious awards that align the wall in her home. These awards were her aspirations and inspirational goals she achieved through education for all the hard work and dedication of service. In addition, Mrs. Hicks served as the FAMU Polk County Alumni Chapter President for the last 40 years. While serving in this role, she diligently and proudly assisted on sending over 400 High School students to FAMU through grants and scholarships. On the National Level she served as chairwoman of the FAMU Distinguished Alumni Awards Committee, served on the Executive Board of the FAMU National Alumni Association, was awarded the Distinguish Alumni Association Honoree in 1997, received the Legacy Trailblazer Award 2022, and honored as the FAMU outstanding Alumni of the quasquicentennial. Again, these are just a few of her many global accomplishments bestowed upon her by her fellow alumni members. She was also a very active member of her beloved church Greater St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church where she faithfully served on the Finance Committee. As an active member of her also beloved Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., she held several leadership positions over the years one being President from 1990-1992 and receiving several awards which included Miss Jabberwock Legend – April 2024 and the Minerva Community Achievement Award – May 2014. As we reflect and remember, Mrs. Doris L. Hicks, affectionately known as the “Queen” she will go down in the history books for her illustrious achievement and work which became her passion and commitment impacting and blessing many generations to come forever!! On October 2, 2024, our beloved Queen entered eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her parents: Samuel B. Fryson and Ruby underwood Fryson Clary; siblings: Reverend Gary E. Clary, Craig Ronald Clary and devoted husband Lorenzo H. Hicks. Her laugh, love and legacy will be forever continued by her loving and only child: Veronica L. Ecclesiastes 3:1 “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” Maurice Knight was born and raised in Lakeland, Florida and was a graduate of Kathleen High School. Maurice grew up in the Pentecostal Church of God in Lakeland. Maurice loved football, bowling, fishing, traveling, talking noise and what his sister called his “happy juice” in that order. Maurice played flag football as an adult then, went on to coach several little league and flag football teams to include the Patriots and Titans. Maurice started his dream job approximately 3 years ago. Maurice was a truck driver for Covenant Transport/Land Air. Anyone that knew Maurice was an avid bowler and always made time to take family, friends, and strangers alike to the bowling alley for a lesson. Maurice Knight was born June 9, 1974 to Emma Ree Knight and Isaiah Murray. Maurice’s journey ended on September 21, 2024. Maurice was preceded in death by his grandparents: N.J. and Nell Knight; son, Maurice Knight, Jr.; uncles: Raymond Knight, Marshall Knight; cousins: Markie and Louis Knight. ‘We bid farewell to Lawrence Joseph Sleurs (January 19th 1938-September 8th 2024) of Lakeland, Fl, who passed away at Lakeland Regional Hospital at 86 years old. Lawrence Joseph Sleurs arrived to the world on January 19, 1938 in the capital city of Albany, New York. Born to first generation American and musician of Dutch descent Stephan and Julia Covell Sleurs, Lawrence was raised in a humble home with several siblings. Lawrence was brought up in a Roman Catholic household, a spiritual tradition that emanated throughout his entire life. Working as a paperboy and janitor to cover his tuition for parochial school, Lawrence graduated from high school at the Vincentian Institute in 1957. Affectionately nicknamed ‘Mole’ by his classmates, he was also a member of the Glee Club and Dance Committee during his high school tenure. His knack and passion towards the arts never left him and while not by trade like his father who worked as a musician. Lawrence was a lifelong lover and creator of art. A young man who believed in the highest ideals of what it means to be an American and at the same time a young man who sought to explore the world at large, Lawrence enlisted in the US Navy on November 23, 1955 (rank and title CDR, US Naval Reserve Enlisted Personnel Officer) and served until he was honorably discharged on November 22, 1961. The friendships he made, the different lands, peoples and cultures he was introduced to and his love of service towards fellow person while stationed on the USS Laffey destroyer was shared in stories of his for generations after. Returning to New York State and eventually relocating to Staten Island, Lawrence would write poems on his life, spirituality and varied emotional states as well as the exciting yet still uncertain and sometimes chaotic occurrences that took place in the 60's. Away from the sea but still in search of a way to serve others and make this world a little better, Lawrence completed a certification with the School of Practical Nursing at Willowbrook on Staten Island, New York on September 22, 1963. Shortly thereafter the University of The State of New York certified him as a Licensed Practical Nurse on January 16, 1964. He later on earned an Associates in Applied Science on February 1, 1974 at Staten Island Community College, subsequently becoming a Registered Professional Nurse on April 22nd of that same year. Working a large part of his career at the psych ward at Willowbrook as well as having a broader interest in the human mind, Lawrence would eventually earn a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Richmond College of The City University of New York on June 22, 1976. Professional accolades aside, perhaps the titles he valued most were that of husband and father. His first son Stephen was born on October 30, 1966, shortly followed by daughter Sandra on September 12, 1967 from his first marriage. From his first marriage he also guarded over and loved two other children, Joelanda Oliver and Jolanda Mungin. Years later he remarried to his beloved Margaret Daymond Sleurs on August 20, 1977. He was entrusted with the guardianship of another child Carla Daymond, who he cared for as his own as well as a loving relationship with his wife’s other daughter, Valarie Daymond. Several years later him and Margaret had two sons. Vincent born on February 19, 1982 and Daniel born on December 19, 1984. Later on he assumed guardianship over his granddaughterAmanda Daymond, born January 12, 1988. He loved his family dearly, working tirelessly to provide while still passing on his knowledge, wisdom, humor and heart to his loved ones. Eventually Lawrence retired and settled in Lakeland, Florida where he had lived previously for a several years in the 80’s. On September 8, 2024, Lawrence transitioned to the life hereafter where he now exists in peace and freedom. May his memory fill all of us with love, may we find comfort in knowing he lived a good life and he now rests in eternal glory. Lawrence J. The Eulogy of Lunsford T. Rogers We gather here today to honor and celebrate the life of Lunsford Theodore Theophilus Rogers, AKA Teddy. He was a remarkable person who touched each of our lives in unique and profound ways. In times like these, words often feel inadequate to express the depth of our loss, but it is through sharing our memories and reflections that we find solace and strength. He was born to Oniciah and James Rogers on the 14th of July 1960 on the Island of Anguilla, he was the 4th of 9 children. At the ripe age of 5 years old he started his educational life at the valley boy school. He also attended the Albena Comprehensive school where he graduated at the age of 16 years old. He then went to work with his father the late James “Bubber” Rogers in construction. An became a father to his first daughter at the age of 18 years old. He left Anguilla at the age of 18 years old and went to St Thomas where he worked for the Sheraton hotel and then he went into sales at a jewelry store. St Thomas is where he met the love of his life in 1980 Madeline, they were married for 42 years and have 4 kids. After leaving the jewelry store job he decided it was time to work for himself and became an entrepreneur and created his own business with Madeline. They moved to Florida for the first time in 1991. While in Florida he worked as a correctional officer and counselor, helping many young kids. He joined the Family Worship Center church and there he developed an even closer relationship with God. He ministered to kids and became a kids worship leader. He was a Christian before joining but found a renewed relationship with God and completed his pastoral ministry course. He then started a Ministry with his wife called Covenant Woman of Purpose in 2010, they enjoyed feeding the homeless, visiting the jails and helping families in need. In connection with the Seven Eyestone Ministry he traveled yearly to Jamaica on mission trips administering medical supplies and preaching the good news of the Gospel of Christ. He lived a dedicated life to the Lord and the Kingdom. Through his love for Christ his kids were encouraged to live a Christ-like life with his youngest son joining the ministry and becoming a pastor today of his own church. Teddy was and will always be greatly loved and daily cherished by his wife, his kids, his siblings, grandkids and great grandkids. He was active in raising his grandkids and was a vital part of their upbringing. He cherished the time spent with them and they felt his unwavering love, he never raised his voice, he always listened and he could talk and listen for hours. The values he imparted to us helped mold us and will be apart of our lives forever. As we gather here today to honor my father’s memory, we are reminded of the incredible strength and resilience he displayed throughout his life. For over 40 years, my dad battled kidney disease with a courage that was nothing short of extraordinary. Despite the challenges he faced, he never let his struggles define him. Instead, he chose to live his life with grace, kindness, and an unwavering sense of humor. In the face of adversity, my father taught us the true meaning of perseverance. His journey was marked not just by the trials he endured, but by the love he gave, the wisdom he shared, and the countless lives he touched. His spirit remained unbroken, and his heart remained open. As we say our goodbyes, let us remember my father not only for his battle, but for the way he embraced life with dignity and courage. Let his legacy be one of strength, compassion, and the enduring power of love. Thank you all for being here today to celebrate a man who lived so fully and loved so deeply. May we honor his memory by living our own lives with the same spirit of resilience and generosity that he exemplified. The Legacy Willie Hood Crenshaw was born on June 6, 1940, in Greenville, Alabama, to the late Henry Crenshaw and Willie Belle McKee. His mother, Willie Belle, passed away when he was just three years old. Being an only child he was raised by his late grandmother, Florence Williams. Willie spent all of his adult life in Lakeland, Florida after moving from Alabama. He became employed with the company Owens-Illinois where he was a Forklift operator for over 40 years and from were he served loyally and retired. Most who knew Willie well, knew that as a young man and well into his adult life he prided himself on the way he dressed. He was easily considered one of the best dressed men around, always sharp and coordinated with every outfit he would wear. He didn’t have many hobbies, but the few things he took passion in, he was very serious about, spending many hours indulging in them. It became clear that he loved repairing and working on his collection of cars. Among his collection was a drop top Mercedes Benz and a Chevrolet Corvette that he cherished dearly. Willie would relentlessly work on those cars day and night. He also had a real love for his motorcycle. Willie was considered more of a person to stay at home, he really enjoyed watching television with his love of westerns shows with Clint Eastwood being his favorite western actor. He was truly fond of his grandchildren who he would often talk about, but all who knew him understood that deep in his heart he was close and immensely loved his entire family. On August 16, 2024, Willie passed away surrounded by his family. He is survive by his wife, Patricia Crenshaw, and his children: Tony Crenshaw, Felescia Rena Crenshaw, Eric foster (Sarita), Cookie Crenshaw Curry, Gwendolyn Crenshaw Maultsby (Alvin), Willie Crenshaw, Jr., Kiwii Crenshaw, Patrick Crenshaw, Kenyatta Greathouse, Keith Williams, Drey Teal, Natalie Payne, 37 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and extended family members.

Her Journey It is written: “To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under the Heaven,” such was the case of Connie La’Faye Smith when she blessed the world with her presence on February 22, 1960 to loving parents Anderson and Litha Mae Smith ‘Connie Faye” was she was affectionately known, charmed her many people with her wit, smile and personality, but the heart and soul of a man named Frank in 1982. The two lovebirds exchanged the vows of holy matrimony with the words, “I do” uniting them as one. Connie Faye was a lifetime Home Maker and gave support wherever it was needed. She was an avid Florida Gator’s Fan and enjoyed watching all sports. Her motherly love landed her the position of “Team Mom” for the local little league Eagles Football Team Connie Faye accepted Christ at an early age and was a dedicated and faithful member of Greater St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. She a member of the Unity Usher Board and gave support to many of the auxiliaries. She loved her church and church family. The author and finisher of our soul’s destiny, summoned the mortal presence of dearly beloved, Connie Faye to eternal rest, as she has made life’s final transition from earthly travailing to heavenly reward on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. Her warm hugs and bright smile will be cherished in the hearts and memories of her family, friends, church friends, and others who knew her. Dr. Lawrence James Ingram, a highly respected and accomplished music educator, choral director, and music minister, passed away on August 10, 2024, at the age of 69. Dr. Ingram's legacy is defined by his passion for music, dedication to education, and unwavering commitment to the communities he served throughout his illustrious career. Dr. Ingram was born to Bertha White Ingram and the late James Franklin Ingram in 1954 in Tampa, Florida, and graduated from Plant City Comprehensive High School in May 1973. He then followed his late brother, Dwain Ingram, to Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama where he was introduced to the legendary Professor James Arthur Williams, who was head of the Music Department and conductor of the renowned Stillman College Choir. Lawrence majored in Music Education and studied voice and choral conducting as well as piano. He traveled extensively throughout the country with the Stillman College Choir as a soloist and student conductor. The Stillman College Choir was the top choir in the State of Alabama and one of the top choirs in the nation. The choir was often invited to sing at the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church. The choir frequently toured Texas and was very active in fund raising for the college, sometimes securing millions of dollars for Stillman College. In 1974, he pledged the Epsilon Nu Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated at Stillman College and remained a lifelong dedicated member. He graduated from Stillman in 1977 and began establishing himself in the Gospel music arena around the country. Miami, FL was his home after Stillman College, and he worked for the Miami Dade County School System. In October 1982 he married Priscilla Corner and moved to Houston, Texas. It was there that he began his own ministry and formed the Spirit of Life Community Choir in the summer of 1983. In 1988, he took the country by storm with his album and featured song, both entitled “Stayed on Jesus.” Also at that time, he worked for the Aldine School District and Houston North Forest District, until Superintendent Dr. Carrol Thomas helped him catapult his career by introducing him to school districts in and around Beaumont, Texas. His professional career in education also included working for Superintendent Dr. Stevie Roberts at the Northwest Preparatory Academy Charter School in Houston. In 1994 Dr. Ingram was invited by Dr. William Henry Caldwell, also a Stillman College alum and head of the music department and conductor of the Grammy nominated Central State University Chorus, to serve as artist-in-residence for the Annual Homecoming Gospel concert at Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio. Performing before a packed house in the Paul Robeson Cultural and Performing Arts Center, for almost two decades this event was the highlight of the academic year and the homecoming activities. His relationship with Central State University grew and for many years, he sent many choir students from Ozen High School to Central State University. Lawrence’s personal academic journey was marked by a deep commitment to furthering his knowledge and expertise in music education, culminating in him earning a master’s degree from Liberty University in 2019 and a Doctorate in Music Education, which he completed in May 2022. Dr. Ingram's career as an educator spanned several decades, during which he touched the lives of countless students across Texas. His tenure included significant roles as Choir Director at Southwestern Christian College, O. D. Wyatt High School, Memorial High School, West Orange Stark High School, and Clifton J. Ozen High School. Dr. Ingram's choirs consistently earned superior ratings at regional and state competitions, and his students performed at prestigious venues, including the Lincoln Memorial and the Apollo Theater. Beyond his contributions to education, Dr. Ingram was a devoted Minister of Music, serving at various churches in Texas, including Rock Island Missionary Baptist Church in Port Arthur and Starlight Missionary Baptist Church in Beaumont. His leadership extended to the Texas Mass Choir, where he served as the 2nd Vice President and Youth & Young Adults Director for over twenty-five years. Dr. Ingram was also recognized for his contributions to gospel music, being featured in the movie "Golden Voices" and also portraying the late James Cleveland in the upcoming film "The Lost Song." His accolades include the "Man of the Year Award" presented by the MLK Support Group of Port Arthur, Texas, and numerous awards for his choirs' outstanding performances. Dr. Ingram's impact on the world of music education and gospel music will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of excellence, passion, and dedication that will continue to inspire future generations of musicians and educators. In the words of his best friend, Rosalyn Johnson, “Lawrence wrote his book, and he painted his picture.” Dr. Lawrence James Ingram will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on through the music he loved and the many lives he touched.

~ Obituary ~ Audley Livingston Sterling’s dash in the race of life began on 21st October 1954 and ended on 8th August 2024. “Babes” “Sterling” “Ginger,” “Manager,” “Manga,” “Sheriff” and “Boss Man” were some of the names by which Audley was affectionately called. The name Manager in particular, was given by his grandfather Daniel McIntosh due to his burly physique which portrayed the characteristics of someone managing the existing property on which he lived. Audley was the third child for his father Wilmot Sterling and the first for Louise Sterling (wife of Wilmot). His elementary education began at Salt Spring All Age School in St. James, Jamaica. In his later years, his Mum sent him to learn the trade of plumbing, however, this was short lived as he had no interest in this area. Subsequently, he ventured into the automotive industry where he honed his skills as an outstanding mechanic both in person and remotely and was always there to lend a helping hand to family and friends who needed his valuable assistance and advice. In the early 1980’s, he migrated to the U.S.A. and lived in Connecticut for a number of years before moving to the “Sunshine State” of Florida. On 25th November 2006 Audley married Charmaine. They had a harmonious and loving relationship. This union added three stepsons, Robin, Maurice and Dwayne to his two beautiful daughters Latoya & Corrine. As their “Daddy” he was the tower of strength and guidance in their lives and they spoke about him passionately. He committed his life to the Lord and was baptized on 10th June 2007, he was a devoted member and Deacon of the “Jesus is Coming Evangelical Ministry” church. Audley was a 21st century learner as he kept abreast of current affairs relating to politics, the economy, religion, climate change, globalization, music and sports. His analytical, journalism and culinary skills were quite astute. God knew the long and arduous journey associated with his illness and called him home to rest. His legacy will forever be etched in the hearts of his beloved wife Charmaine, daughters Latoya and Corrine, 3 stepsons, Robin, Maurice & Dwayne, 7 siblings, 2 grandchildren Chyna & Mikey, 2 great-grandchildren, only surviving aunt Icy (Jamaica), mother and father-in-law, brothers and sisters-in-law, several nieces and nephews, cousins, church family and a host of friends. An irreplaceable limb from our family tree has been broken. Rest in peace dear husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Your love, laughter and kindness will be deeply missed but not forgotten!

James Willie Johnson, Jr. was born February 5, 1947 to James Willie, Sr. and Ella Mae Johnson in Ft. Pierce, Florida. He was the third of nine children. James attended Lincoln Park Academy in Ft. Pierce and later graduated from Union Academy in Bartow 1966. James attended the First Born Church of the Living God. James was drafted in the United States Army on October 21, 1966 and served in Vietnam. He was honorable discharged October 20, 1972. After his service to his country, he worked as an EMT for Hillsborough County Fire and Rescue for many years. He later relocated back to Polk County and he began working as a Security Guard for the local mine company. James was married to Lillie Pearl Johnson and to this union, 1 daughter was born. It should be noted that James as an avid Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan. He entered eternal rest on July 29, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife and siblings: Olivia L. Watkins and Johnny B. Johnson. He leaves a world of warm thoughts and precious memories to his daughter: Shonterra Johnson; siblings: Jamie Gaskin (Tony), Evangelist DiAnne Watson (Bishop Willie), Robert Johnson; nephews and nieces: Christopher Johnson, Dawnetta Hayes (Rodney), Michael Wearing (Neecy), Alyssa King, Willie Watson, III (Rhobbyn), Wylecia Gayle (Tony), Leroy Watkins III, (Liz), Sheyla Watkins, Valerie Tomlinson (Torey), Shelita Lammers (Larry) and a host of extended family and friends.
