Reflections of the Life and Legacy
Dorothy (Dimples) Lewis was born on August 19, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan. She was later raised by her mother Mrs. Emma Lewis and father Julius McFadden in Robbins, IL.
Dorothy accepted Christ at an early age.
Dorothy attended High School and received her GED from El Paso College.
Dorothy married Ruben Moore Sr. and to this union three children were born. She worked in the social services field. The last job she had was with the Robbins Police Dept. as a Social Service
Coordinator for the Senior Citizens.
Dorothy truly enjoyed her life. She traveled all over the world. She visited places like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Sri Lankan, El Paso, Germany, and numerous cruises. Some of her hobbies were sewing,
dancing, playing cards, cooking and of course going to the Casino.
She was blessed to live 95 years on this earth and witness 4 generations of family and now she is forever our guardian angel. During the course of her life, she shared wisdom and knowledge to
everyone she came across. Some essential people that impacted her life were her nephew Alfred Moore (Shirley), her great nephew, Alfred Moore III, her niece Sally Jackson (TJ), her nephew Oscar
Moore( Ruby), her granddaughter Tameka Celius (Doug) and her religious mentor, Shelia Jackson (Andrea). During her last days, God blessed her with a wonderful, loving, and humble care provider,
Shenita Pugh.
Preceding her in death, her mother, Emma Lewis, her father, Julius McFadden, her sister, Maryann Armstrong and a brother, Alfred Stewart.
Dorothy leaves to cherish her memories; her sons, Ruben (Kim), Larry (Colleen), her daughter, Marian (Cynthia), her grandson that she raised, Zatic. Other grandchildren Michael, Dorothy, Dorthea,
Ruben, Alfonso, Larry, Laquita, Chantel, Demerus, a special great grandson, LaVonte, a close friend, Margaret Palmore, and a host of nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and
dearly loved family members and close friends.
