Mr. Brown of Lakeland transitioned Tuesday, November 19, 2024. A visitation will be held at Zion Hill Primitive Baptist Church - 1348 Sidney Avenue, Lakeland, Florida 33805, Saturday, November 30, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. with the Celebration of Life to follow. Interment will follow the Celebration of Life at Serenity Gardens Cemetery - 3350 Mall Hill Drive, Lakeland, Florida 33815.
Delton Lee Brown, Jr. was born February 13, 1947 to Delton Brown, Sr. and Eva Mae Reed.
For over 25 years, he was employed with Polk County Maintenance #1 in Mulberry, Florida.
Delton lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, and a fiery spirit that left an unforgettable mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Delton entered eternal rest November 19, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents: Delton Brown, Sr. and Eva Mae Reed; siblings: Mendell Murray, Cleotha Parker, Hattie Williams; children: Thomas Dye (Chris), Kenneth Wilson, Jr. and nephews: Joseph and Levon Freeman and niece: Novella Moore.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of over 40 years Coreatha “Bonnie” Brown; children: Delton Brown III, Karen Brown, Fay Sheppard (Prescott), Sarina Kurns (Deaundrey), Tyrone Wilson (Sentoria), Carlos Reynolds (Maggie), Patricia Davis (Terrance), Veleka Howard (Genesis); bonus sons: Walter Kemp, Jr., William Freeman; godchildren: Catina West and Nyjee Washington; his “Awesome Dawgs” - 30 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
