Private First Class Jeremiah Battle, affectionately known to many as "Big Jerry", was born January 29, 1948 in Climax, Georgia. To Horace and Lillian Battle. Mr. Battle transitioned from his earthly home on Friday, January 19, 2024 in Tampa, Florida.

He lived most of his life in Lakeland, Florida. "Big Jerry" was loved by all of his family and close friends. No matter the situation, there was never a dull moment when he was around. "Big Jerry" had a smile that would lighten up any room he walked into.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Horace and Lillian Battle and siblings: Horris, John, Thelma, Adolphocus, Ida Jean, Marvin, Joy, Hazel, Montez and granddaughter: Nevaeh.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 41 years, Elizabeth; children: Eric (Selena), Deondra (Mario), James (Evenlyn), Lisa, Jerry (Patrice); grandchildren: Se'Erica, Sierra, Teshayana, Demario, Ronderius, Jakaria, James, Miles, Emilio,King, Alohe, Freddie, Danisha, Breanna, Jerry "Lil Jake", Imoni, Ariah, Jeremiah, Jerry "DeDe", Tamarrow, Curtis, Emarion, 16 great-grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.

United States Veteran Private First Class Jeremiah Battle of Lakeland transitioned January 19, 2024. A visitation will be held Friday, January 26, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Coney Funeral Home - 647 W. Memorial Boulevard, Lakeland, Florida 33815. Interment will be held Monday, January 29, 2024 - 11:00 a.m. at the Florida National Cemetery - 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, Florida 33513.
