Donovan Kenyan Lucas was born October 22, 2003 at 12:27 a.m. in Lakeland, Florida to Jacquelyn Thomas.

He attended Kathleen Senior High in Lakeland. He was a big teddy bear with a smile and laugh that would light up any room he walked in.

After he graduated, he planned to further his education to become a psychiatrist because he loved to help people who were in need.

While residing in Lakeland, Donovan made many friends and met family that will keep his memory alive. On October 7, 2023, our beloved Donovan played his last song.

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted mother: Jacquelyn Thomas; sister: Brooklyn Foster; grandparents: William and Anna Thomas; Marie McKelvin; uncles and aunts: Tobias Thomas, Marcus and Nicole Thomas, Star-Zyl, Christina Thomas, William, Jr., Evelyn Antionette; cousins: D'Shawn Graham, Jade-Marie, Johnny, Julian, Duane, Malachi, Karter, Karmelo, and a host of nieces, nephews, other cousins, classmates and friends.

Mr. Lucas of Lakeland transitioned on Saturday, October 7, 2023. A visitation will be held Friday, October 20, 2023 - 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life to follow. All services will be held at Coney Funeral Home - 647 W. Memorial Boulevard, Lakeland, Florida 33815.
