A TIME TO BE BORN:
Mac Albert Hicks was born August 18, 1923 to Green and Ida Hicks in Crawfordville, Florida.

A TIME TO LIVE:
"Pop-Pop", as he was affectionately called, grew up in Crawford, Florida where he was educated through the Public School System in Shadesville Elementary and High School where he completed the 10th grade.

A TIME OF SERVICE:
He left school to join the United States Marines at the age of 18. He often reminisced how he has traveled the world and visited places such as: Spain, Rome, Italy, China, just to name a few. He served 4 years before he was honorably discharged.

A TIME TO REST:
God called Albert home Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center where he was surrounded by loved one. He was preceded in death by his parents: Green and Ida Hicks; siblings: Alfred Johnson, Fred Johnson, Virdene Johnson, Arthur Johnson, Lilian Johnson, Nanthanal Hicks, Adrina Hicks; children: Mack Albert Hicks, Gale Williams, Tracy Hargrove and Anthony Hargrove.

A TIME TO CHERISH:
He leaves to cherish his memory: his children: Shirley Taylor, Ivory Benson, Alustadh Atif Sameerullah, Tomika Thomas; 28 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and community children no matter who they belonged to.

Mr. Hicks of Lakeland transitioned on Wednesday, October 25, 2023. A Celebration of Life will be held 9:00 a.m. Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Coney Funeral Funeral Home - 647 W. Memorial Boulevard, Lakeland, Florida 33815. Interment will follow the Celebration of Life at Florida National Cemetery - 6502 S.W. 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, Florida 33513 at 1:00 p.m.
