Steward Eugene Butler, Jr. was born June 28, 1991 to Steward Butler, Sr. and Crystal Hicks.
“Stew”, as he was affectionately called, was an avid football player having played for the 2 times National Champions, 9 times State Champions, world renown Lakeland Dreadnaughts. He also played for Marshall University of Huntington, West Virginia.

Stew was loved by all of his family and close friends. No matter the situation, there was never a dull moment when he was around. He had a smile that would lighten up any room he walked into. He gave back to his community as a beacon of strength to those who needed hope and love.

His journey ended on November 14, 2024. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Glen Stephens, Mercita Clayton, Jerry Fisher; aunt: Fay Butler, uncle: Willie “Scoobie” Robinson, Jr. and cousin: Tonio Ware.

He is survived by his children: Steward, Shamar, Sanaii and Ace McDowell Butler; parents: Steward Butler, Sr. and Crystal Stephens Hicks (Vince); siblings: Randy Dobie, Tomarra Zinnerman, Shandera Butler, Shakoya Patterson, Aaron Butler, Trenard Butler, Jamia Michael, D’angelo Butler, Tenille Scott, Arielle Surely, Stewart Butler, Serenity Butler, Miracle Butler; God-mother: Wanda Buford Joe and a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
