Marva Ann Honors Moreland, affectionately known as “Babow”, blessed the world with her presence November 1, 1949, to loving parents James and Francis Honors, in Nichols, Florida.

A true embodiment of godly characteristics of a Proverbs 31:30 woman, Marva “Babow” Honors Moreland accepted Christ at an early age. Marva attended school in Mulberry, Florida. After school in her late 20’s, she began working at the Phosphate Mine, currently known as Mosaic, in Pierce, Florida. She was one of the few black women to work in various positions at the Phosphate Mine. She retired from the Phosphate Mine after 32 years of hard work and dedication. Throughout her long and amazing work career, she also dedicated most of her free time to serving the Lord and being active in the church. She was always available for her church families, and willing to help ensure that the church duties, programs, and services were always completed successfully. Outside of performing many church duties, she also dedicated most of her time with family and close friends. She loved her family dearly and was always available to pray, give advice, and provide guidance. She enjoyed participating in all family functions. Whenever there was a family function, you could find her in the kitchen telling jokes, singing, and cooking.

Her warm hugs and bright smile will be cherished in the hearts and memories of her family, friends, church friends, and others who knew her. Marva “Babow” Honors Moreland made life’s final transition from earthly traveling to heavenly reward on Thursday June 6, 2024.

She was preceded in death by her father: James Honors; mother, Mary “Francis” Honors; son: Lee Andrew Borders, Jr.; siblings: Margaret Honors Glessner, Ellis Honors, Irene Honors Roberts, and brother James Honors.

The memory of Marva Ann Honors Moreland will continue to refresh the hearts and memories of her beloved husband: Warren Moreland; children: Charles Barrett (Emily), Daniela Clark, and Bylon Johnson (Michael); sister: Betty Honors Smith; grandchildren: Willie Carter III, Tyrien Borders, Lee Borders III, Jordan Clark, Amiyah Johnson, Hadessa Barrett, and Juan Rodriguez and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, former coworkers, extended family, and friends.
