Ms. Preston of Lakeland transitioned Wednesday, September 25, 2024. A visitation will be held Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with the Celebration of Life to follow at Coney Funeral Home - 647 W. Memorial Boulevard, Lakeland, Florida 33815. Interment will follow the Celebration of Life at Oak Hill Burial Park - 4620 US Highway 98 South, Lakeland, Florida 33812.
It is written in Ecclesiastes 3:1 that “To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under the Heaven,” and as such, the grand architect of the universe, the immaculate author and finisher of our soul’s destiny, summoned the mortal presence of dearly beloved, Annette Preston to eternal rest, as she has made life’s final transition from earthly travailing to heavenly reward on September 25, 2024, rendering great sorrow and loss to her family and friends.
Annette was born July 31, 1939. She was loving, kind, generous, gentle, and family oriented. She helped anyone and everyone in need and was the kind of person who gave her last to help better someone else’s life.
She was a retired Pediatric Neo Natal Nurse, a member of the Mother Board at her beloved Brown’s Memorial C.O.G.I.C. of Tampa.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Eddie Preston; son: Roderick Earl Sampson; mother: Rosebud Katherine Brown; siblings: Nathaniel Barron, Paul Brown, Sr., Harry James Brown and Travis Burton.
She leaves to cherish her memory a loving and devoted children: Wyndel R. Hall, Sr. (Palmira), Celeste M. Hall, Serena Hardgrove (Randy), Jonathan Sampson (Candace), Daniel J. Sampson, Andre L. Sampson; grandchildren: Annette “Peaches” Davis, James Bowman, III, Tadeuzs J. Chandler, Wyndel Vasquez (Kindra), Malik Jackson and Makhi Davis and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren and devoted friends.
